The TAFE Paramatta fitout was undertaken to create a contemporary, flexible workspace for TAFE NSW administrative employees within one of its key metropolitan teaching hubs. The project transformed the Ground Floor into 2 purpose‑designed pods that support collaboration, industry engagement and staff operations, complementing the teaching and learning spaces located on the upper levels.
The construction was carefully planned to minimise disruption to the active education environment. With adjacent floors in full use for training and student services, construction sequencing, noise management and safe access were critical considerations throughout the build.
A key feature of the project was the creation of 2 distinct zones: the black pod and the white pod. The black pod incorporates an office, boardroom and reception area, defined by high black ceilings, bespoke joinery and with bespoke glazed operable walls. Integrated audio‑visual systems support electronic displays and conferencing, creating a sleek, sophisticated space.
The white pod provides a bright, open workspace for staff, featuring workstations, a statement joinery bench for a breakout work zone, rope detailing to subtly divide zones, and a utility and storage room. Fresh white finishes and high ceilings contribute to a clean, crisp and uplifting environment. A communal kitchenette joined the 2 pods together.
The completed fitout delivers a modern, efficient and welcoming workplace that aligns with TAFE’s mission to provide accessible, industry‑relevant education and support services for students, staff and the wider community.
