Phase 2.1 of the College’s masterplan has been successfully completed, marking an important milestone in the evolution of the Milsons Point campus. Delivered as part of Plan Magis, the refurbishment strengthens St Aloysius’ long‑term vision for contemporary, purposeful learning environments that reflect the College’s Jesuit values and commitment to Human Excellence.
The project introduces several standout design and construction elements, guided by PMDL’s masterplan vision and supported by a long‑standing partnership across multiple education projects. Key features include a lightweight FrameTek steel rooftop extension, a new acoustically screened plant room, and upgraded mechanical systems. Internally, the works deliver new stair penetrations, modernised amenities banks, and refreshed specialist spaces such as the new art department and staff offices. All spaces are designed to enhance functionality, comfort, and long‑term performance for the school.
The full scope included all levels of the eight‑storey building with each floor completely stripped and refurbishment. This incorporated structural modifications, services upgrades, and targeted extensions. Our team undertook the full fitout once the refurbishment was delivered. These comprehensive changes strengthen core teaching areas and essential College infrastructure, ensuring the main campus continues to meet the needs of a growing and evolving school community.
The project’s success also built momentum for the next stage, with construction commencing shortly after at the College’s Rozelle location, a continuation of the College’s vision that you can read more about here.
