Stage 2 of the Easton Park redevelopment in Glenfield, further strengthened the precinct as a vibrant, resident‑centred aged care community. The works expand the care offering established in Stage 1, enhancing comfort, dignity and connection for residents while supporting Whiddon’s long‑term vision for integrated, high‑quality care.
Construction commenced with the demolition of the existing building, undertaken within a live environment of more than 500 residents. Careful sequencing, strict safety controls and clear communication were essential to maintaining operations across the village while progressing demolition and new construction. Grindley’s approach ensured minimal disruption to residents and staff, managing risks with precision on what Whiddon described as one of their most complex projects to date.
The new two‑storey extension adds 82 bedrooms with private ensuites, additional dining rooms, lounge and sitting areas, an activity room and expanded staff facilities. A key feature of Stage 2 is the dedicated memory support wing, comprising 21 bedrooms, its own secure dining and activity spaces, multiple lounges and a large dementia‑specific courtyard designed to promote safety, autonomy and outdoor engagement.
The full scope of work also included the redesign of the central courtyard between Stages 1 and 2, incorporating a small bowling green, generous lawn areas, new footpaths and perimeter landscaping to create a cohesive, welcoming outdoor environment. Completion of Stage 2 delivers a modern, integrated and future‑ready care precinct that enhances resident wellbeing and strengthens the Easton Park community for years to come.
