Winner of two major awards and achieving a 4.5 Green Star rating, the Brisbane Patrick Terminals are the world’s first fully automated marine container terminal and a landmark facility that has transformed port operations in Australia. Handling more than 800,000 container movements each year and supporting a 200-person workforce, the terminal delivers efficiency, safety, and sustainability, providing a state-of-the-art hub for the community and the logistics industry.

The project presented unique challenges. Integrating autonomous container handling technology into a traditionally manual industry required purpose-built infrastructure, including robotic navigation systems, high-capacity container bays, and real-time logistics coordination. Safety was critical across a live, high-traffic port, and the team implemented advanced surveillance, lighting, and control systems to protect workers and operations. Careful planning and coordination ensured construction progressed without disrupting ongoing terminal activities.
