The MS Plus Lidcombe Wellbeing Centre sets a new benchmark in Australia for supporting people living with Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions.
More than a healthcare facility, it is a welcoming, Client and family focused environment that combines treatment, research, education, and accommodation in one location.
Sustainability and accessibility were central to the design. Pavilion-style architecture, expansive glazing, and landscaped courtyards maximise natural light and strengthen connections to the outdoors, supporting physical rehabilitation, reducing stress, and promoting wellbeing.
High-quality, PEFC Chain of Custody Certified timber beams were used for the structural columns and rafters in the main lobby, complemented by custom American Oak finishes across flat and curvable panels. These natural materials bring warmth, consistency, and sophistication to the interiors.
Delivered in partnership with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, the project involved enabling and earthworks, and the construction of two new buildings, the Health and Wellbeing Centre and Specialist Disability Accommodation.
The health and wellbeing centre provides a large rehabilitation and assessment gymnasium, multifunction rooms, consulting suites, teaching facilities, offices, meeting rooms, a café and a sensory garden. All spaces were designed to support physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing. The Specialist Disability Accommodation offers 20 two-bedroom apartments with car parking, providing accessible, NDIS-compliant housing for people travelling to the centre for treatment, along with their families, friends or carers.
Early works required careful management of site remediation. Close collaboration with the Client and stakeholders, along with transparent reporting of progress and costs, ensured risks were mitigated and certainty was maintained throughout delivery.
Now the national headquarters for MS Plus, the centre provides world class spaces for treatment, therapy, research, and accommodation.

Topping Out Ceremony
The Grindley and MS Plus teams came together for the topping out ceremony, celebrating the completion of the building’s structural framework.
Completion
A preview of the new headquarters, featuring a light-filled entrance and reception area with waiting spaces, communal work areas, and offices; upstairs includes a commercial office suite, physiotherapy room, and doctor consulting rooms, all opening onto a landscaped courtyard.
