Block A at Mount St Benedict College has been transformed into a contemporary learning and wellbeing hub that strengthens the College’s mission to educate young women through the Benedictine values. The upgraded building now provides state‑of‑the‑art Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) learning spaces, refurbished Student Services, a modern College Clinic and new administrative offices. As a central part of the campus, Block A enhances daily student experience and supports the College’s commitment to holistic education.
Construction was delivered within a live school environment, requiring careful staging, clear communication and strict safety controls. Movement zones were planned to keep students protected and noise was sequenced around school operations with daily coordination.
The design focuses on flexibility and natural light. New TAS rooms support hands‑on learning, while operable walls allow the downstairs space to function as 1 large classroom or 2 smaller rooms. The fitout includes new storage, accessible amenities, a reception area, staff kitchen, office spaces and upgraded windows and doors to improve comfort and ventilation. Materials and finishes were selected to create a warm, welcoming environment aligned with the College’s existing heritage character.
The two‑storey refurbishment delivered a complete internal reconfiguration, new services, upgraded circulation paths and a new entryway. The result is a modern, functional space that supports creativity, technology and student support services. The completion of the fitout marked Grindley’s second successful project with the school.
