Meadowbank Grove Care Community is located near Meadowbank Park and the Parramatta River, the home offers a safe, welcoming, and connected environment where residents can enjoy both independence and community. Its location provides easy access to transport, shopping centres, local amenities, and healthcare services, enhancing quality of life for residents.
Constructing the new facility on a live site required careful planning and close collaboration between the project team, Client, and surrounding neighbours. Early works involved demolition of the existing aged care home and neighbouring properties, followed by extensive site remediation. Through well-coordinated staging, safety management, and open communication, construction activities such as basement excavation, plant installation, and landscaping were delivered with minimal disruption to the community. The project marks another successful partnership between Grindley and Opal HealthCare, built on shared values of quality, integrity, and transparency.
Designed to promote wellbeing, connection, and comfort, the home features light filled interiors, beautifully landscaped courtyards, and inviting communal areas. A dedicated Memory Care Neighbourhood supports residents living with dementia. Sustainability was also built into the project to reflect Opal HealthCare’s ‘Caring for our Planet’ commitment. This included rainwater reuse for irrigation, solar panels, low-VOC materials, ventilation, and low energy lighting.
The new three-storey building accommodates 116 residents and includes 113 standard rooms, 3 premium suites, 2 lifts, and underground parking. The design incorporates a range of shared spaces and amenities, such as a café, hair salon, training and therapy areas, and a commercial kitchen and laundry. Externally, the façade combines Fairview Stryum cladding, Dulux Acratex render, Gabion cladding, sandstone detailing, and steel sunshade louvres to create a contemporary aesthetic.
Meadowbank Grove Care Community provides a high quality, future focused living environment that enhances the local community and supports residents’ wellbeing for years to come. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design, sustainable construction, and collaborative delivery can come together to create a place where people truly feel at home.
