Harbison Moss Vale was delivered to enhance aged care services within the Southern Highlands, providing older Australians with access to contemporary accommodation, specialised care and welcoming communal environments that support wellbeing, independence and quality of life. The staged redevelopment expanded Harbison’s capacity to meet growing community needs while ensuring residents could continue receiving high-quality care in a familiar and supportive setting.

A key challenge of the project was undertaking a major extension and refurbishment within an occupied aged care home. The works were carefully staged to maintain continuity of care and minimise disruption to residents, staff and visitors throughout construction. Close collaboration with Harbison and the consultant team ensured the seamless integration of new and existing facilities while maintaining safety, operational functionality and resident comfort.

The new two-storey wing provides dedicated dementia and high care accommodation, supported by thoughtfully designed communal spaces that encourage social interaction, reflection and connection. A chapel, landscaped gardens, gazebos, pergolas and water features create welcoming indoor and outdoor environments, while the secure memory support wing delivers specialised spaces that support residents living with complex care needs.
