This major refurbishment and expansion project strengthened Gosford Private Hospital’s ability to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care for the Central Coast community. The works supported the hospital’s mission to provide exceptional experiences for patients, staff and specialists, and ensured the facility could meet growing demand across a wide range of clinical services.
Delivered within a fully operational medical environment, the project required careful planning, close coordination and a highly co‑operative approach. The site team worked alongside hospital staff to sequence activities around daily operations, manage noise and vibration, and maintain safe access for patients. Their understanding of the complex issues inherent in live hospital construction was central to the project’s success.
The upgraded facility introduced modern, functional clinical spaces designed to support contemporary models of care. New departments and refurbished areas improved workflow, enhanced patient privacy and strengthened the hospital’s capacity to deliver advanced surgical and diagnostic services.
The project scope included 7 new operating theatres, expanding the total from 5 to 12, along with a cardiothoracic laboratory, radiology department, accident and emergency facilities, central sterile services department, administration areas and a medical centre. These works significantly increased the hospital’s capability and resilience, supporting more than 600 staff in delivering high‑quality care to the community.
