Ferguson Lodge was developed to provide people living with spinal cord injury with greater independence, choice and access to specialised support within a safe and welcoming community. Delivered for the Paraplegic & Quadriplegic Association of NSW (ParaQuad NSW), the redevelopment transformed the existing site into a purpose-built accommodation and rehabilitation environment that enables residents to live with dignity while remaining connected to family, community, and essential services.

Delivered across two stages, the project required the construction of a new high-care facility while maintaining continuity of accommodation services for existing residents, followed by demolition of the original buildings and delivery of new transitional accommodation. Careful staging, stakeholder coordination and planning were critical to ensuring uninterrupted support for residents throughout the redevelopment.

Designed specifically for people with spinal cord injuries and complex physical disabilities, the facility combines permanent, transitional, respite and short-term accommodation with integrated health and wellbeing services. Private rooms and self-contained villas are supported by 24-hour nursing care, allied health services, accessible technologies and purpose-built rehabilitation spaces. Landscaped gardens, accessible pathways, communal areas and outdoor gathering spaces create opportunities for connection, independence and everyday living.
