Epping Public School’s upgrade was part of the New South Wales Governments $6.7 billion Schools Infrastructure investment program to deliver new and upgraded facilities for communities across the state.

Students of Epping can now enjoy 22 new air-conditioned classrooms, a new library, upgraded existing core facilities, including special program rooms, a new amphitheatre and new playgrounds. Upgrades were also made to the existing administration and staff areas.

Key design features included the placement of operable walls between the new classrooms and the shared practical activities areas. This was to create open space and flexibility in learning areas. The library features large glass walls to provide a large portion of natural lighting and visual connectivity between spaces.

Construction was carefully staged within a live school environment to minimise disruption and prioritise safety. Stage 1 delivered the new building and Stage 2 completed the refurbishment of existing amenities. Site separation, hoardings, and multiple access points ensured uninterrupted school operations throughout the project.

The upgraded three-storey building allows the school to maintain their focus on academic excellence and provide opportunities for students to engage in extracurricular pursuits in a high-quality environment.
