The new Belmore Metro Services Building is a key component of the Southwest Metro Stations project, supporting the transition of the Southwest line to Metro standards. Positioned beside the existing rail corridor and station, the facility strengthens the network’s operational backbone, ensuring safer, more reliable, and higher‑frequency services for the community.
Delivered within a live rail environment, construction required careful staging, strict safety controls, and close coordination with rail operators. Working adjacent to active tracks and existing station infrastructure meant managing complex access requirements, integrating new services without disruption, and maintaining a secure site throughout delivery.
The building accommodates essential systems that enable Metro operations, including electrical distribution, mechanical plant, and critical service pathways. Its design prioritises durability, safety, and long‑term maintainability, with secure enclosures, robust materials, and clearly defined separation between public and operational areas.
The complete scope of works included construction of the purpose‑built services building installation and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems, integration with existing rail assets, and associated external works such as fencing, access paths, and secure plant zones.
