The award-winning Anderledy Lodge stands at the heart of Mary MacKillop Place, a site rich with history and spiritual significance. Named in honour of Father Anton Maria Anderledy (the Jesuit who supported Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first saint) the new lodge continues his legacy of hospitality and care, providing a peaceful and welcoming retreat for all who visit.

Replacing the original building, the three-storey lodge now offers contemporary accommodation for up to 140 guests across 51 rooms. The design was carefully crafted to complement the site’s heritage character, blending seamlessly with the existing architecture and tranquil gardens that surround it.

Delivered within a live and highly sensitive environment bordered by community and educational facilities, the project required careful coordination to minimise disruption. Our team worked closely with the Client, local authorities, residents, and the neighbouring Shore School to plan around community events and school activities. Temporary access routes, privacy screening, and clear communication protocols were implemented to maintain safety and ensure daily operations could continue uninterrupted throughout construction.

The project included demolition of the original lodge and creation of new communal facilities, including a multifunction dining and event hall, commercial kitchen, basement parking, and landscaped outdoor areas.

Public interface works also formed part of the scope, featuring widened footpaths, upgraded street infrastructure, and new garden spaces that enhance both the visitor experience and the local streetscape.

Delivered on time and to an exceptional standard, Anderledy Lodge reflects the strength of partnerships. The result is a modern, welcoming space that honours the heritage of Mary MacKillop Place, while continuing its mission of care, community, and connection for generations to come.
