The Amity College Auburn Primary School Campus refurbishment has delivered a significant enhancement to the learning environment, supporting Amitys mission to inspire confident, capable, and community‑minded students. The project focused on creating modern, engaging and flexible spaces that enrich daily learning and strengthen the school’s holistic educational approach.
Working within a live primary school environment required careful planning, staged delivery and strict safety management. The design ensured the new library could be constructed before the existing library was decommissioned, maintaining uninterrupted access for students throughout the school term. Adapting an underutilised under croft space to house new classrooms presented structural and services challenges, all managed through close coordination with school leadership, controlled access zones, and thoughtful sequencing to minimise disruption.
Key design features include contemporary learning spaces that prioritise natural light, colour and comfort. Each new classroom is differentiated through playful, welcoming palettes and soft finishes that support student wellbeing. The new library provides a collaborative, technology enabled hub, while the refreshed administration area offers improved staff rooms and functional office layouts. The project’s adaptive reuse of existing building fabric reflects a resourceful and sustainable design approach.
The upgrade included 2 new classrooms, a relocated and redesigned library, and a renewed administration zone, with new staff rooms and office spaces. Works involved internal demolition, structural adaptation of the under croft, services upgrades, new joinery, finishes, and the reconfiguration of internal layouts. The completed upgrade delivers long‑term value to the Auburn Primary community, providing modern, comfortable, and inspiring spaces that elevate the learning experience.
