Carrington Centennial Care selects Grindley for aged care facility at its celebrated historic site
Grindley has commenced work on Grasemere Terrace RCF, introducing exceptional aged care facilities to a landmark building that was NSW's first public convalescent hospital, the former Carrington Centennial Hospital in Camden.
The $18 million project comprises 30 High Care beds and 70 Low Care beds, extending the work of Carrington Centennial Care, recognised in this year's national ACSA awards for excellence in quality care and services for older people.
Grindley was chosen for its expertise in developing high and low care and experience with heritage sites. This is a site with a significant history of benevolence. In 1888, William Henry Paling, a wealthy businessman and philanthropist, generously donated his 500 acre 'Grasmere' property complete with stock, dairy, irrigation appliances, and two cottages, plus £10,000 to the people of NSW to establish the Carrington Centennial Hospital for Convalescents and Incurables at Camden. The Governor of the day was Lord Carrington and the Deed of Gift was presented to him for the Centenary of the Colony.
More than one hundred years later Grindley is honoured to play a role in ensuring the building's continued role as an icon for Carrington's 'Excellence in Care' for future generations.

propose their own design to meet the brief. Grindley is responsible for procuring a DA and work begins on-site in
November.
Located on the old Prince Henry Hospital Site, the new Community Centre will overlook the golf course, offering
