Comment To ensure the multi-purpose hall provided light and ventilation
beyond the minimum standards Grindley and Lightwave developed systems of solid operable panels and translucent sheeting
that were cost effective and architectural features. Due to the high impact nature coupled with public access requirements the
solution needed to be resilient and of a quality to encourage public use. Allowing great natural ventilation control and providing
ample natural daylight (without direct sunlight) the hall can operate effectively during the day without the need for additional
lighting or A/C. Linking the hall to a new computer lab via a covered learning space and forecourt the hall precinct becomes a
central focus of activity that joins the pre-school, primary school and public address.
