Alan Carstens, CEO

Alan Carstens is CEO of Grindley Construction, the company he co-founded in 1988. As CEO he is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company as it charts a course of structured growth. Alan introduces the policies and procedures that ensure Grindley's operational excellence. He remains highly visible on projects and places great priority on client relations.

Alan has accumulated 27 years of experience in managing building projects in Australia and overseas. Among the diverse major construction projects he has lead are UK retail giant Marks & Spencer and The Futures Exchange in Sydney.

Bob Southerton, Director

Joint Founder and Director, Bob Southerton is a respected authority on independent living, aged care and health facilities in Australia.

His expertise and research into strategic master-planning and the operational efficiencies of retirement and aged care facilities mean Grindley is today associated with new and emerging models for aged living in Australia. During a career that spans three decades Bob has been associated with numerous landmark projects including planning, funding, and construction of 425 units at Constitution Hill.

Rod Burger, Director

Rod Burger is Commercial Director with responsibility for business development and project design management. His history with leading construction and project management firms, coupled with his industry awareness and expertise, equip him to deliver insightful solutions to meet client challenges.

Throughout his 23 years in the industry Rod has accumulated a depth of experience in the selection and management of consultant teams, solution based engineering and authority approval. He has managed design and construction projects to the range of $150 million, including high profile Australian developments.

Martin Patience, Director

Martin Patience is Director with the responsibility for Construction Management & Delivery. He ranks among the most experienced of building professionals, having progressed through every level in the industry during his 30 year career.

His dynamic leadership of the Grindley team of project managers ensures the optimum resourcing and efficient administration of every project. Martin is directly responsible for Grindley's Industrial Relations and the Company has achieved the highest level of OH&S and Industrial Relations compliance to undertake work at the state and federal level.

John Little, Company Secretary

As Company Secretary, John Little manages financial, tax and corporate administration.

With over 20 years of experience in Australia and overseas at the financial helm of major contractors, John's skills have included the development of our project reporting and accounting systems.

John's understanding of the importance of timely and accurate information underscores Grindley's financial stewardship as an important commitment to clients and stakeholders in the industry.
