Alan Carstens, Executive Chairman

Alan Carstens is Executive Chairman of Grindley Construction, the company he co-founded in 1988. As Executive Chairman he is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company as it charts a course of structured growth. Alan introduces the policies and procedures that ensure Grindley's operational excellence. He remains highly visible on projects and places great priority on client relations.

Alan has accumulated 35 years of experience in managing building projects in Australia and overseas. Among the diverse major construction projects he has lead are UK retail giant Marks & Spencer and The Futures Exchange in Sydney.

Rod Burger, Joint Managing Director

Rod Burger is Joint Managing Director with responsibility for business development and project design management. His history with leading construction and project management firms, coupled with his industry awareness and expertise, equip him to deliver insightful solutions to meet client challenges.

Throughout his 27 years in the industry Rod has accumulated a depth of experience in the selection and management of consultant teams, solution based engineering and authority approval. He has managed design and construction projects to the range of $150 million, including high profile Australian developments.

John Fitzpatrick, Director

John Fitzpatrick is Director with the responsibility of our Queensland operations. John holds a degree in Construction Management and his building career spans over 20 years, the last ten of which have been in the employ of Grindley.

Throughout this time he has delivered some of Grindley's largest, most complex and awarded projects. In 2007 John set up Grindley's Queensland operations and has overseen our successful transition into the Queensland market. John is passionate about Grindley and in achieving the best possible project outcomes for our clients.

Martin Patience, Joint Managing Director

Martin Patience is Joint Managing Director with the responsibility for Construction Management & Delivery. He ranks among the most experienced of building professionals, having progressed through every level in the industry during his 33 year career.

His dynamic leadership and industry contacts ensure Grindley is a leader in the successful delivery of projects. Martin is directly responsible for Grindley's Industrial Relations and the Company has achieved the highest level of OH&S and Industrial Relations compliance to undertake work at the state level.

Matthew Macauley, Director

Matthew is Director with the responsibility of our NSW operations. He is a leader in the continuous improvement of our delivery skills and is committed to a high level of consultation and co-operation with client teams to develop and monitor projects.

Matthew has over 18 years experience in the construction industry, and over 10 years in the employ of Grindley. He is responsible for the Grindley team of project managers and ensures the optimum resourcing and efficient administration of every project.

John Little, Company Secretary

As Company Secretary, John Little manages financial, tax and corporate administration.

With over 25 years of experience in Australia and overseas at the financial helm of major contractors, John's skills have included the development of our project reporting and accounting systems.

John's understanding of the importance of timely and accurate information underscores Grindley's financial stewardship as an important commitment to clients and stakeholders in the industry.
